Malaysia Reaffirms Not Allow Opposition to Using Its Territory Against Cambodia

Phnom Penh: Special Envoy of the Prime Minister of Malaysia Dato Ahmad Azam Bin Abrahman informed the Chairman of the Supreme Council of the King, Hun Sen that Malaysia will not allow anti-government groups to use Malaysian territory in politics against the Royal Government of Cambodia.

This reaffirmation was made during the Meeting on Saturday morning, December 23, 2023 at the 7 Makara Palace in Phnom Penh.

The Special Envoy of the Prime Minister of Anwar Ibrahim, Dato Ahmad Azam Bin Abrahman, thanked CPP President and the Royal Government of Cambodia for the harmonization of ethnicity and religion, especially Muslims in Cambodia, and provided many opportunities for Khmer Muslim community in Cambodia. He praised the progress of Cambodia under the leadership of the Cambodian People's Party under the leadership of former Prime Minister Hun Sen has transformed Cambodia from zero to a prosperous country.

During the meeting, he emphasized that the cooperation between Cambodia and Malaysia was further strengthened and expanded, and Malaysia claimed that it would not allow anti-government groups in Cambodia to use Malaysian territory for anti-government of Cambodia.

In response, President Hun Sen briefed the current situation and experience of the Cambodian peace process and highly appreciated the progress made between Malaysia and Cambodia.

He also thanked the Malaysian government for its continued support of the Muslim community in Cambodia. Mr. President also thanked the Malaysian government for its commitment to not allow extremist groups to use the territory against the Royal Government of Cambodia.
